The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) received federal funding to develop a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan along the Lorain Road corridor, which is a major east-west connecting road on the west side of Cuyahoga County. An over fifteen mile (15.7 mi) stretch of Lorain Road from its origin in the Ohio City neighborhood of the City of Cleveland through Fairview Park and into North Olmsted ending at the Cuyahoga - Lorain County line.
This plan will make recommendations for TOD and land use, and transportation operational alternatives that support a major capital transit improvement including the development of a bus rapid transit line or other bus priority treatment on the Lorain Road Corridor. This plan will build a comprehensive strategy that incorporates the plans of each community that includes and supports the public transit experience that is important to the development of this plan.
